Lisa Vandegrift Davala was born in 1952 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. From 1970 to 1972, she apprenticed to muralist Roger. L Steinhauer. After studying at Tyler School of Art of Temple University, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting in 1975. In 1972, she was awarded the Vira I. Heinz Grant for European study and travel, attended the Aegean School of Fine Arts in Paros, Cyclades, Greece, and École de Mime Potash, studying with Thomas Leabhart in Montpellier, France in 1973...
